    Evening tour tickets are $36 for adults and $12 for children ages 5 to 12. Tickets for all other tour types are $25 for adults and $12 for children. You can purchase tickets at the Visitor Center upon arrival; however, advance tour reservations are strongly recommended.
  • What is the history behind Hearst Castle?

    Hearst Castle’s history starts in 1865, when wealthy American businessman and United States Senator George Hearst purchased 40,000 acres of undeveloped ranchland. 54 years later, William Randolph Hearst inherited the land and turned it into a retreat known as La Cuesta Encantada. By 1947, Hearst had developed Hearst Castle, which features 165 rooms, along with 127 acres of pools, terraces, gardens and walkways, showcasing a legendary collection of art.
