Group of friends and family picking apples

Apple Picking at Gopher Glen Apple Farm

Savor wholesome fun at a 40-year-old farm that's treasured by locals. There's nothing like biting into a crisp, locally grown apple in San Luis Obispo. The farm also serves yummy pressed cider and hard cider.

Pick a Pumpkin at Brookshire Farms Pumpkin Patch

Classic fall fun is everywhere at this beloved local farm with a larger-than-life maze. Daytime activities at the farm include corn hole, hay rides, duck races, jump pads, hay climbs, and more! There's also a night maze taking place on select evenings throughout October. The farm also has a pick-your-own patch featuring dozens of varieties of pumpkins in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

Halloween scarecrow display on Cambria Scarecrows

Cambria Scarecrow Festival

The Cambria Scarecrow Festival began in 2009 with just 30 scarecrows on display. It is now one of the biggest and best fall activities in San Luis Obispo year after year. In fact, the celebration is so huge that you'll need a treasure map to trace a route featuring hundreds of decorated scarecrows lining neighborhoods, buildings, and storefronts throughout Cambria and San Simeon. The route covers the East Village, West Village, Moonstone, and San Simeon. Each scarecrow is a unique creation brought to life by a local artist.

Annual Witches & Warlocks Paddle

Something witchy is happening on the water! The annual Witches and Warlocks Paddle takes place at 101 Coleman Drive in Morro Bay, the Saturday before Halloween. If you're feeling inspired, wear your favorite witch or warlock costume to paddle on the water for this bring-your-own event. There's no need to register. Of course, observing what's brewing from shore is also very fun.
