Located centrally from San Francisco to the North and Los Angeles to the South, Morro Bay is a coastal town with plenty of offer. From an outdoorsy adventure at Morro Bay state park to exploring the nearby towns in the area, whatever you’re looking for, you’ll be sure to find it.

One nearby town from Morro Bay for example, is Cambria. A drive from Cambria to Morro Bay, CA is only about 20-30 minutes, so you can easily make it a day trip. While both of these cities are great, they offer different things for guests of the area. For example, Cambria is great for couples, as there are a number of wineries nearby, while Morro Bay is better for families. While both of these cities are coastal cities, they have a different feel to them. Cambria is not a traditional “beach town” while Morro Bay does have beaches that are great for families to enjoy.

Cambria is also known as the gateway to hearst castle, a National Historic Landmark, that was created by the publishing tycoon, William Randolph Hearst and architect Julia Morgan. Built between 1919 and 1947, the castle now offers a number of tours offered year round for guests to enjoy. Meanwhile, Morro Bay offers a number of different activities to explore, making it a great area to be your home base. Consider booking a hotel in Morro Bay, such as Blue Sail Inn, while Cambria makes for a good day trip, especially if going to hearst castle.
