While the summers a popular time to travel to Morro Bay, a Morro Bay winter is actually a great time to visit the area. Enjoy indoor activities such as the Morro Bay skateboard museum, outdoor events including holiday activities and more! Here’s what to know when planning a trip to Morro Bay in the winter.

When planning for visiting Morro Bay during the winter, you’ll have to take the weather into consideration. The winter is the rainy season and the area can rain fall a number of times during these winter months. It’s most likely rain during mid December with the week of the 17th seeing, on average, two days of significant rainfall while January is the least humid month out of the year. February is often the busiest month for tourism making January a good bet to visit if you don’t want the area to be crowded when you visit. There are also a number of exciting events to enjoy in the winter.

For example, the Morro Bay Merchants Association Winter Street Fair is held on November 27th. The fair is a fun time for everyone with music, dancing, food and event an area for the kids. It’s a perfect opportunity to find unique gifts for yourself and loved ones. The Lighted Boat Parade held on December 10th is another favorite event during the holidays. Boats of all sizes from kayaks to commercial fishing vessels become brightly decorated for the holiday season.
