If you’re considering exploring the Bay area of CA, traveling from San Francisco and taking a road trip to Morro bay is an excellent option. Not only will you be able to enjoy stunning views of the California coastline along the iconic Pacific Coast Highway, you’ll pass through cities such as Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Big Sur. Finish the journey at Morro Bay and stay at Morro bay hotels so you can have time to explore the beautiful city.

Morro Bay is a charming seaside town that has plenty to offer. From their bustling waterfront to their delightful old town there is much to enjoy. Walk through one of their many antique stores or look for tide pools along the coast. Be sure to stop by the iconic Morro Rock, a 481 foot volcanic plug that is one of the most popular and largest of the volcanic hills that you can find in the area.

Morro Bay is also a great place to learn more about the natural world. Visit the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History and learn all about the wildlife that calls the area home. Another option is to go on a karraying adventure at the Morro Bay Natural Estuary. Also, if you’re in San Francisco and looking to get to Morro Bay quick because of a time crunch, it’s also convenient to take a train or fly.
